Technical Specialist

Spex is seeking an outstanding Technical Support and Training Specialist. In this role, you’ll be responsible for resolving inbound technical support and training issues, proactive technical account management and user-onboarding, and supporting the Customer Success (CS) Team in helping to achieve the CS quarterly objectives. Key to this position: The ability to patiently work through complex problems with users who, often, have little experience with technology; think creatively in solving for new and evolving challenges; and the ability to build confidence in new users during the onboarding process, enabling them to adopt the platform as quickly as possible.

Daily Activities:

  • Triaging and resolving inbound support requests through a variety of communication channels
  • Providing training, both planned and on-the-fly, to a variety of user types operating in a variety of ways within our platform
  • Onboard new field users, primarily virtually, but occasionally in the field
  • Providing ongoing technical maintenance tasks with key enterprise accounts
  • Supporting the CS team in a wide variety of tasks as the relate to achieving the team’s goals


  • 4+ years of relevant experience in technical support, preferably in a B2B focused startup environment
  • Creative problem solver and with passion for finding resolutions to customer challenges
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understand how to user CRM’s, chat, and bug tracking software (Salesforce, Intercom, and Pivotal Tracker are preferred)
  • Strong iOS, Android and Web knowledge
  • A working understanding of how modern technology platforms fundamentally operate
  • A 4 year college degree or equivalent additional relevant experience
  • Located in the Denver Metro area

Additional Preferred Qualification:

  • A working understanding of SQL, XML, TAML and/or JavaScript
  • Property insurance industry experience (either at a carrier level or with a service provider) and/or strong property construction knowledge
  • Experience providing technical training, both in-person and virtually
